FirstNet has the mission of building, operating and maintaining the first high-speed, nationwide wireless broadband network dedicated to public safety. FirstNet will provide a single interoperable platform for emergency and daily public safety communications. Every public safety agency will be impacted by FirstNet.
The Oregon Department of Administrative Services held a FirstNet Education and Data Collection Workshop at the Umatilla County Justice Center today. The workshop was an informational outreach and data collection event for FirstNet in Oregon.
FirstNet is asking all states to provide input on proposed network coverage areas and to provide information on current agency data usage to better assess the actual needs of the new wireless data network.
